Soul Choirs 15th Birthday!

April 2025 saw the 15th Birthday of UK Soul Choirs and so we are celebrating this incredible milestone throughout the year!

We began the year with our special Birthday concerts - the first in London at Blackheath Concert Halls on 29th March and the second in Kent at Great Hall - Kent College in Canterbury on Saturday 5th April.

Both concerts featured 250 singers with a 5 piece live band and special guests the incredible We3 vocal trio who treated us to amazing accapella performances getting all the sold out audience fully involved!

The immense choir sang a stunning programme of soul hits specially curated for this concert - opening with the spell-binding 'Welcome to our world' made famous by Elvis Presley which created the most amazing 'pin-drop' atmosphere before launching into the big soul classic 'Best of my Love' by The Emotions mashed with 'To be Real' by Cheryl Lynn. This, along with other brilliant feel good songs including 'Unwritten' by Natasha Bedingfield and a George Benson medley made for a really uplifiting evening of much loved songs.

We also had songs from our individual choir regions to showcase each branch in their own right 'True Colours, 'Aretha' and 'Desperado' all made for wonderful moments to really celebrate each of our choir regions in London and Kent.

We also had a stunning performance of Stormzy's 'Give it to the water' from our auditioned Chamber Choir along with our talented choir leaders coming together to perform our Earth Wind and Fire medley.

In true Soul Choirs style we of course finished off both evening with an after-party with soul and funk disco and a lot of much deserved celebration!

It was one to remember for sure - and we were so proud to raise a whopping £1884 for our nominated charity Action for Children too.
