Ross Power

Ross, our in house Baritone, is an award-winning Composer and Musical Director and splits his time between writing scores for movies & TV shows and arranging/directing for choirs. Ross leads our Hither Green and Canterbury Soul Choirs and, coming this January 2024, our brand new Margate Mondays!

Ross runs Soul Choirs with Abi Gilchrist as Musical Director, Arranger and Vocal Leader. His endless energy and attention to detail keep his sessions engaging and fun achieving the very best out of all members.

Growing up, Ross was a Bishop's Chorister, developing his ear and love of vocal harmonies and textures from an early age. He studied jazz piano and composition at Goldsmiths University where he honed his arranging and orchestration skills for various ensembles and genres including the voice.

He now writes music for TV & Film from his studio in Whitstable when he's not playing piano in his vintage band Miss Kiddy and the Cads or creating unique soul arrangements for choir! He is a keen gardener, sailor and father of two!

UK Soul Choirs is a professionally run inclusive community choir operating across South East London and Kent. There are no auditions, and no experience is necessary to come try us out. Members get to learn and sing great songs each week and perform with professional musicians in an end-of-term performance. We offer fully inclusive online learning resources, a community-led social programme and a range of membership plan options to suit member's different priorities.
