London Audition Info - Candlelit Concert
For those who haven't taken part in a Soul Choirs concert before, we invite members to audition for full solo/duet songs and Chamber Choir as well as the solos found in our choir arrangements! It's an ideal opportunity for more confident singers, or those who embrace a challenge, to have their moment in the spotlight!
That said, we are now accepting audition submissions for your upcoming Christmas Concert on Sunday, 7th December and can't wait to hear you!
There are a few important points to remember:
At the beginning of your recording, please clearly state your NAME, HOME CHOIR and SONG CHOICE (this applies to both a solo in a choir arrangement OR full song audition)
SOLO IN CHOIR SONG
If you are putting yourself forward for a solo in one of the choir arrangements, please play the backing track on one device and record yourself on another. Make sure you choose the track without the leader's guide voices or we won't hear you clearly enough!
Just a reminder that the solo options are as follows:
(All of the solo sections are clearly marked on the lyric sheets found in your Member's Area under Music)
Where is the Love / My Destiny - Alto / Tenor
Who took the Merry / Change the World - Alto / Tenor
Coming - New Christmas song - Sop (please use a section of the soprano line in any arrangement as we haven't learnt this song yet)
CHAMBER CHOIR
If you'd like to put yourself forward for Chamber Choir, please submit a recording of you singing along to your part in any of the choir songs so we can hear you singing your correct harmony - please state at the start whether it's either for both a solo section and Chamber or just Chamber.
The song is the uplifting Seasons of Love from the musical Rent, and will obviously feature all three voice parts. This is a smaller choir made up of 9 -12 members for a more intimate sound. The song is in the Member's area NOW and, if you're chosen, you will need to learn it independently ready for a quick run through on the last two weeks of term and on the day of the concert.
FULL SONG/DUET
If you would like to take the plunge and apply to sing a full solo or duet, try and find a backing track on YouTube to sing along too. Either way, please make sure the backing is played at a moderate volume-we want to hear your gorgeous voices more than anything else! Again, please include your name/s, home choir and song title.
SUBMITTING
The best way to record is as a Voice Memo on your mobile device. Do not send a video - audio only, please. When you're happy with your audition, you need to save your song clip and upload to the link through the button below. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL IT IN TO US - USE THE UPLOAD LINK ONLY.
There is no limit for submissions so upload as many auditions as you wish - just remember to give us the details we ask for at the beginning, please!

We need your entries in by Sunday, 2nd November and we will make our decisions and let you know on Monday, 10th November - go for it!
